Boring headline revisited
Superplumes rising through mantle, appeared as the headline on an AP story in The Post & Courier, April 20, 2002, pg 17a. According to the story, "Two superplumes of molten rock appear to be powering through the boundary between the Earth's upper and lower mantle, perhaps feeding volcanoes and affecting movement of the planet's crust."
